Changing lives while making a HUGE difference

o other people when someone is giving back to the community it’s like he/she is just wasting their time, why because people have this different perception that nothing is for free. What I know is that God blesses the hand that is giving than the receiving hand. On Monday I got an opportunity to chart with student that I live with at the accredited outside student accommodation City Warldorf. The importance of giving back to your community and make a difference.

Amanda Siyengo a phenomenal young lady shared a very touching story with us, she is a 2^nd year N.Dip in accounting at Soweto Campus, she usually goes to an Orphanage and she spends most of her time helping the woman responsible for looking after the kids, most kids from that orphanage are Hiv positive but to her that clearly makes no difference because of how much she cares for them and take those kids like her younger sisters and brothers.One day when she was busy bathing this innocent little girl, the girl started crying and Amanda asked her what was wrong and the poor girl replied that I sometimes miss my mother and when I want to talk about her no one wants to listen, the caring 2^nd year student who is only 20years promised to get professional help for all those kids who wanted to talk to social workers and share their emotional part because their one on one conversations were too emotional for her to handle as she was also young.

 Amanda choose to make a difference in her community because the orphanage now has professional Social workers who come and check how the kids are doing and motivate the older ones to dream big and aim for the moon. She made a difference to other peoples life if she can so can us.

Are social Networks our friends when it comes to motivation?

My last blog was about the power of spoken words through our favourite radio programmes, books and motivational speakers. This blog is about how I personally use my social networks namely facebook and twitter; I believe that as people we have different values because what is good to me may not be good to you. I use social networks to retweet motivational quotes from the people that I follow on http://twitter.com//@unclerush. Some people use social networks as a platform to advertise their bodies to their friends on facebook of followers on twitter, I also use social networks to stay motivated by liking motivational pages on facebook and following motivational Quotes from David Ambrose and share words like ‘’ if you have the will to win, you have achieved half of your success, if you don’t, you have achieved half of your failures’’ this shows  the power of words but at the same time this words can also be regarded discouraging to some people that use social networks for different reasons.  

Some of my friends on facebook have different perspective when it comes to the ultimate power of motivation, because they choose to go for discouraging words and not the encouraging words, sometimes you might tell yourself that you are encouraging people by posting encouraging words of wisdom to keep the sense of togetherness amongst them and only to find that you actually discouraging them. We are living in a 140 character world where what you say immediately go to the ‘’twittersphere’’ some people not only expect opputunity to knock, they expect it to beat down on the floor.

Its true when motivational speakers say "motivation addresses the soul, while inspiration addresses the spirit" the results of inspiration in your life and society are amazing especially when an individual is committed to what he or she wants to achieve their goals. I for one believe that we all learn from our mistakes and they are there to help us grow into being responsible future leaders of this country all the credit goes to vukamzansi@ukhozifm.co.za motivational talks that I listern to.We all are created in the image of the Omnipotent so we must never look down on our inner potentials and we must know that the days of our lives are important and never accept to be held back by the our failures of yesterday, today brings possibilities, opportunities and hope for the future, “ I don t believe you have to be better than everybody else, I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be” wise words from Ken Venturi.
